Ruisrock Festival will take place in Ruissalo, Turku, Finland, on the first weekend of July, the exact dates being July 3-5, 2009. This year’s festival will be headlined by masked metal band Slipknot (USA), indie rock group Mew (DEN) and heavy metal band Disturbed (USA).
Latest confirmed bands are Children of Bodom and Stone.
Other foreign acts include ”Elvis-metal” band Volbeat (DEN), post metal group Neurosis (USA), lovely Maja Ivarsson’s The Sounds (SWE), americana act Calexico (USA), one of Nordic’s most popular heavy bands In Flames (SWE), dance punk group !!! (USA), The Gaslight Anthem (USA) who were forced to cancel last weekend’s sold out show due to carbreak-in, gypsy punk greats Gogol Bordello (USA), electro foursome Ladytron (UK), the most influential Australian alternative band The Living End (AU), metal promise Pilgrimz (DEN) and hard rock punk group The Wildhearts (UK).
