It seems to become some kind of basic setting when heading to a black metal concert at Kuudes Linja in Helsinki that the night is lit by an almost full moon because on Wednesday 9 th November the full moon was only one night away and was brightening the early winter night to the Wolves in the Throne Room concert.

It was a very special atmosphere when heading to Kuudes Linja that Thursday evening (13.10.2011) for the Negura Bunget concert: A mostly clear sky was lit by an almost full moon, the clarity accentuated by the odd cloud and a cold wind was announcing the coming winter.

Black Flames of Blasphemy II – Live Report

Kold Reso Kult (KRK) blackened the autumn again with their 2- days Black Flames of Blasphemy festival that took place in Helsinki for the second time around on 7th and 8th October 2011. KRK has been behind the production of many black metal concerts and festivals in Finland in the last few years and usually one could only report good things so expectations were high for this weekend as well.

Occultfest 2011 – Live Report

Occultfest. A very small underground festival in Hoogeveen, the Netherlands, and was held for the tenth time this year. The name of the fest derives from the fact that the first years there was no permit for the fest and therefore was illegally organized. Since one of the definitions of Occult is secret, disclosed, hidden from view it seemed like a great name for the fest.

Elsrock Festival 2011 – Live Report

On Saturday August 27th 2011, the town of Rijssen, in the east of the Netherlands, was the place to be if you’re into metal. For the sixth year in a row Elsrock festival took place here, a small but very cozy one-day fest. Approximately 2.000 metalheads attended this year’s edition.
