House of Metal is a two day indoor festival concentrating on rock and metal in different forms. The festival was first held in February 2007, in Umeå Folkets Hus.
The festival has a maximum capacity of 2700 visitors per night and has no age limit, although there are bar areas which have an over 18 policy. HoM has three main stages and two cover band stages, with approximately 25 bands from Sweden and all over the world performing. The festival also includes a market area where it is possible to buy a range of items such as clothes, cds and sweets. In the daytime there are also guitar and drum clinics to visit for free.
The ambition of the festival is to become one of the best rock and metal festivals in Sweden. With bands such as Meshuggah, Soilwork, Satyricon, Pain, Nocturnal Rites, Candlemass and Entombed playing in recent years, it is well on its way of achieving that goal.
