“Do to circumstances beyond our control the Gates of Metal Festival is cancelled. We will most likely be doing another in Los Angeles next year.”
Phoenix Arizonas’ Thrash Masters Flotsam and Jetsam are confirmed as one of the headliners for the Gates of Metal Open Air held at Recreation Plantation Camprounds in Dripping Springs, Texas on May 21-22, 2010.
The Festival will Feature 40 acres of grass camping area in the Texas Hill Country with clean facilities including a bath house with hot showers and flush toilets. Just down the path from the bathhouse are 4 outdoor showers, and a large swimming pool which will be open to Festival goers (you can watch the show while you drink beer in the pool), Metal Merchandise Vendors, and BBQ,s.

Just looking into getting involved in a festival (Texas) such as this and I am wondering what it takes to get on the bill? Is this the type of festival that allows unsigned bands to come show what they’re made of? Anyways, you get the picture – we want to play! I would greatly appreciate any information you can give me.

My band THUNDERFIST is also interested in playing this festival, we are playing the 4 day TMT metal fest in July, in NY state and are trying to plan a tour as well. If you can respond with any information I as well would be greatly appreciative.
